Teito Klein is a reclusive student at a prestigious military school at the center of the empire. The school teaches the "zaiphon" ability, a sort of magic talent that reflects the nature of the user. During the graduation exam however, Teito runs into terrible peril when he crosses the likes of the cold Ayanami, commander of Fort Hohburg. As Teito's forgotten dark history is slowly revealed, he becomes an increasing danger to himself and his friends.

In an attempt to escape, Teito runs across the bishops of Barsburg Church, and in effect learns the mythology of the Seven Ghosts. What Teito does not realize is that this mythology is more closely linked to himself than he cares to know...

07-Ghost is a refreshing manga that does not seem to fall within either shounen or shoujo boundaries, and can in fact be enjoyed by all. The style and story is reminiscent of Full Metal Alchemist, with elite imperial armies and politics and powers beyond this world.
